Born in Sherman, Texas, Rory was ordained as an Evangelist with the Churches of Christ in 1989 and moved to Amarillo and then to Canyon, TX. In 2007 he was ordained as an Elder in the Amarillo Church of Christ.
In 2021 he moved to San Benito TX where he serves as a campus Minister for the Sunny Glen Children's home and an Evangelist at the North 7th Street Church of Christ in Harlingen, TX. His ministry has extended from Washington State to southern Mississippi, and from California to Massachusetts and he served on missions preaching in Nigeria in 1997 and 2016 Rory was actively involved in the Panhandle Professional Writers (Now Texas High Plains Writers), serving as Frontiers in Writing Contest Chair in 2009, PPW President Elect- 2008-2009, President - 2009-2010, and on the PPW board of Directors as Past-President -2010-2011 and Frontiers in Writing Conference Chair 2012-13. He served as an active member of the Inspirational Writers Alive! Amarillo Chapter, and Ol’ Tascosa Wordslingers, and President of WordsmithSix the Amarillo chapter of the Oklahoma Writers’ Federation, Inc. and WordsmithSix Blogger and a fellow artist at Panhandle Art Center. |
